I am both proud and excited to officially announce our new website as well as our newest component to our site - BlogTalk. Blogs are the latest form of communication which allows us to tell you about happenings within Children’s Care. Through a comments section within the blog area, you can then communicate back with us on what you think of the comments expressed within a blog post and then read each other’s comments. It’s like having a conversation and we are all very excited about it. In a recent survey by eMarketer, more than 40% of all women who go online in the US are mothers with children under 18 at home. If you’re reading this, you may be one of these mothers!
Through the medium of BlogTalk we will provide many topics including our programming, services, plans, clinical information and responses from time to time on current events that take place in the world of behavioral issues as well as extended and medical care topics. Look for more information on how you can become an active participant of BlogTalk very soon!
Children are the most important asset our world will ever have. Within each of them possesses huge potential. Each child has in them a variety of gifts - large and small. Some might warm a heart by learning to sing your favorite song. Others provide love to spare simply by looking at you in a special way. Some children possess natural talents to share while others need some extra coaxing or developing. But at the end of the day they are all special people to be loved, nurtured and cared for.
As the CEO of Children’s Care I want you to know that I am also a mother. I, like you, love my children with all of my heart. I talk about them to my co-workers and anyone else who will listen. Addison, 7 and Bergen, 4 not only occupy my heart, but my desk as well with the many pictures and screensaver I have of them. OK, I admit it - I am a self-professed “Mommy Geek.” I’ll never attend counseling for being a Mommy Geek because I believe it’s an un-curable condition and one I’m sure you’re not prone to part with either. As we kick off this first blog post in what we call Blog Talk, I want to share with all of our parents, as well as those looking to place their children, that as an organization we look after all of the children at Children’s Care as though they are our own. We are all Mommy Geeks and Daddy Geeks. In fact it is the standard to call your children “our children” in stories that we share in our various activities. It is exciting every time we hear of the development that each experiences during their time with us. It’s a special perk of the job. One of many memories includes a time when one of our younger children walked by me while I was talking to a visitor. The young man looked up at the visitor and said, “Gee, mister, you’re a geeeenius!”
If your child has done something or said something recently that you thought was cute or memorable, please leave a comment below and tell us (click on the word Comments below in blue letters). Join the conversation!

Great post, Dianna. Way to be proactive - blogging in healthcare. It’s a hot topic, but you guys are definitely one of the early adopters. Best of luck!
Posted 25 Mar 2008 at 12:46 pmI really liked reading you online words,it was a good read.My nephew was a resident there some years ago. He is doing well because of the staff there.
Posted 09 Apr 2008 at 12:53 pmMy youngest daughter is currently living at Children’s Care Hospital & School. Putting her there was one of the hardest things that I have ever had to do. But it has turned out to be the best thing possible for her. She still comes home for visits, which are now enjoyable instead of the high stress situation we had before. Also because of the treatment she is recieving, I am seeing her do things that she hasn’t done in over 8 months. The littlest things that she is able to do are such huge accomplishments. Thanks to all the Children’s Care staff who have made it possible.
