AMANDA BARTON EARNS NATIONAL SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY CERTIFICATIONPOSTED: DEC 30, 2013
The credential is earned through the National Association of School Psychologists. School psychologists are highly trained in both psychology and education, emphasizing mental health and educational interventions, child development, learning, behavior, motivation, curriculum and instruction, assessment, consultation, collaboration, school law, and systems. Amanda works with 15-year school psychology veteran Darcie Knight, Ed.S. Darcie has been on staff at Children’s Care for seven years.
Amanda is a native of Aberdeen, South Dakotan. She received her B.S. from the University of South Dakota where she double majored in Special Education and Elementary Education. She then studied school psychology at the University of South Dakota and graduated with an Education Specialist degree. While Amanda was attending graduate school, she worked part-time at Children’s Care as a substitute teacher. Also during graduate school, Amanda participated in the LEND trainee program through the Center for Disabilities which focuses on team collaboration to ensure the best outcomes for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities.
