FREE PARENT WORKSHOP ON LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT TO BE OFFERED MAY 16

POSTED: MAY 15, 2013

Presented by Children’s Care University, the featured parent workshop for May is “Facilitating Language Development in Young Children.” Speech therapists Caitlin Abbas, MA, CCC-SLP, and Megan Wiessner, MA, CCC-SLP, will cover typical early speech and language development – including understanding (receptive language), talking (expressive language), and social interaction.

Learn how the speech sound system develops and reasons for concern. Also, suggestions will be provided for ways to help children develop these skills.

This free workshop is on Thursday, May 16, 2013 from 6-7:30 p.m. and will be held at the Children’s Care Rehabilitation Center, 1020 West 18th Street in Sioux Falls. Please pre-register online at cchs.org/services/university, or call (605) 444-9513.

"I was overwhelmed with the idea of my baby wearing a cranial remolding helmet to correct a flat spot on his head, which was caused by torticollis. The orthotists at Rehabilitation Medical Supply was so reassuring, and my son actually likes wearing the helmet! From the first day I walked in the door, I felt welcomed and reassured that they would take excellent care of my baby."
