The auxiliary raised the funds through three fundraising events in the past nine months, including Mall Walk for Kids, TableWear for Children's Care, and their Fall Social.

The auxiliary uses the funds to fulfill items from a wish list created by staff to provide cutting-edge service and a higher quality of life to children with special needs.  This year's wish list items include Ipads for classrooms, an upgrade to the sensory room for children with autism and other sensory challenges, scholarships for horse therapy and aquatics, a blanket warmer for children unable to maintain body temperature, therapy bikes, and community outings.

The auxiliary was formed several months before "Crippled Children's Hospital & School" opened in March 1952 to make sure children had a "mother's touch" to their surroundings.  The group scrubbed floors, made curtains and quilts, made beds, and sponsored birthday parties for children in the beginning, and their role and contribution has only increased with time. Children's Care is the extraordinary organization it is today, in very large part due to the Auxiliary.

The gift was made at the group's last meeting of the year, where new officers were also elected: Cindy Walsh, President; Lisa Rasmussen, Vice-President; Paulette Fischer, Treasurer; Kristi Clark and Lynne Steel Co-Treasurers; and Mary Clark, Past President.

Thank you Auxiliary, for making Children's Care extraordinary!
