CHILDREN'S CARE UNIVERSITY TO OFFER PEDIATRICS SEATING COURSE ON MAY 30POSTED: APR 15, 2012
This workshop for occupational therapists, physical therapists, assistive technology professionals, and related professions will cover positioning, seating, and standing solutions for children. Topics covered to provoke critical thinking will include: the pediatric assessment team and process; the differences between the pediatric pelvis and adult pelvis; the benefits of early intervention from a positioning, standing and wheeled mobility perspective; considerations for growth and development as well as the management of tone.
Sharon has specialized in the field of seating, positioning and mobility for over 20 years. Graduating from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland as a Physical Therapist, Sharon has experienced many aspects of the seating and mobility service delivery model. She has given over 700 presentations on seating and mobility to physical and occupational therapists, nurses and case managers worldwide. She has also been involved with the ISO wheelchair standards working group. Presently Sharon is an independent consultant in her own independent practice. From clinical services; reimbursement; product development to clinical training; known to many as a dynamic and highly energetic speaker, Sharon's extensive knowledge makes her a very skilled seminar instructor.
