CHILDREN'S CARE, RAPID CITY, DOES FREE SCREENINGS!
POSTED: FEB 21, 2012Children's Care offers free screenings in three areas:
1. Developmental Milestones. If you have questions about your child's speech, learning, or motor development, call and ask for a free developmental milestones screening, conducted by an occupational therapist, speech-language pathologist, and/or physical therapist. We can let you know if there are any areas needing attention to help your child keep up with his/her peers, or just help ease your mind if your child is on track developmentally.
2. Torticollis (Neck Tightness in Infants). If your baby's head tends to pull to one side, he/she may have torticollis, also called Wryneck Syndrome. Caught early, torticollis--caused by shortened neck muscles on one side--can be corrected with physical therapy--but the sooner the better! Early treatment can prevent pain and the need for surgery later, to correct what could be a lifelong condition.
3. Orthotic & Prosthetics (for children & adults). Children's Care, through its affiliate Rehabilitation Medical Supply, provides free orthotic and prosthetic screens, including orthotic shoe inserts. Orthotics (braces & splints) and prosthetics (artificial limbs) are provided for children and adults of all ages.
